The Shed has been able to offer support, raising funds to donate to other organisations.

The effort made by the members has been greatly appreciated.

Farmers Drought Relief: In 2019, we hosted a Billy Kart Derby in Sorrento. We took some Bunnings unwanted Kart kits and sold them to families keen to race. It proved to be a fun community event.

Even better was the fact that we raised over $1,200 for the Farmers Drought Relief charities

Victorian Bushfire and Wildlife Relief: The Billy Kart Grand Prix 2020 went ahead amid the growing issue of the coronavirus pandemic. Numbers were well down on the previous year and scaled back our offering on the BBQ option. We still managed to raise $700 for Victorian Bushfire and Wildlife Relief charities.

Birdlife Australia: In 2021, we received a Federal Government grant of $7,800 to build nesting boxes for Birdlife Australia to add to their bushfire recovery efforts in Gippsland. David designed and cut out the kits, the members grouped together for the assembly and painting. At the end, we delivered 100 units to the collective in Kalimna West

Uniforms4U: During the 2022 Federal Election campaign, we entered several photos from the Q&A sessions in the Community Council of Australia “Poli-Pix” competition. Awarded a $500 prize for the setting up of the Q&A initiative and for adding humour to the titles of each photo!! This money was used to support a local initiative providing school uniforms to disadvantaged families.

The committee matched the donation to Uniforms4U in 2023, allowing more uniforms to find their way to deserving local families.

Crisis Housing: James Rennie and Warren Dickins continued to drive discussions on the problem of crisis housing here on the Peninsula. They had discovered many organisations interested in discussing and perhaps identify a way forward.

The Shed had supported a Rotary initiative to raise funds at a Car Show. PNMSA proudly donated $2,000 to Baycare from the event.

Lismore Recovery through Yahama Music: In 2022, Yamaha offered grants to support projects that use music to reconnect and protect the mental health and mental well-being of our members. PNMSA received a grant of $1,000.

But at the time, dreadful floods had destroyed many NSW towns, including losing their much-loved musical instruments. The Music Group was quick to ask Yamaha to redirect the money to Lismore.
